Mothers Day Vigil Against Aerial Spraying
Mothers say the only gift they want for Mother’s Day is an end to the spraying of their children with pesticide.
A group of West Auckland mothers did not be celebrate Mothers Day with their families this afternoon. Instead they stood in vigil beside the North Western Motorway. Countless motorists tooted their horns and waived in support as they passed the huge banner saying: MOTHERS SAY - STOP THE SPRAY.*
Jane Schaverien, spokesperson for MASK, Mothers Against Spraying Kids, said today: “Since the ingredients were revealed, last week, we know for certain that the pesticide formula being sprayed contains chemicals that can cause health problems. The spray is not safe and that is fact! The government is currently preventing us from protecting our children from chemical poisoning.
Nowhere in the world has so much Foray48B been sprayed on so many people for such a long time. The government has no idea what the long- term consequences of this may be.
As mothers we are desperate to protect our kids. We do not consent to them being forced to inhale pesticide, have it sprayed on their skin, in their hair, in their lunch boxes and on everything they touch.
The
Mothers Day Gift we want is an instant stop to all aerial
spraying.” .
