ARC issues 116,000 regional rates bills this week
The ARC sends out 116,000 regional rates bills this
week
This week, the Auckland Regional Council will send out 116,000 regional rates bills directly to a quarter of the region’s ratepayers.
The first areas to receive their regional rates bills, this week, will be Rodney and North Shore.
The ARC Councillors met on 1 July to strike the rates for the 2003/04 financial year. In doing so, the Council confirmed the rates figures for the Annual Plan, as outlined below (1).
At the same meeting, Council also confirmed the dates on which the single annual regional rates bill will be posted to different areas across the region.
“We are posting the bills on different dates to spread the cost and work load, as we have over 450,000 individual properties across the region,” comments ARC Chair Gwen Bull. “It is a huge logistical exercise, given that the ARC has now become the largest rating agency in Australasia.”
Bills will be sent out between this week and
18 August, according (as far as possible) to the schedule
below (2), and all ratepayers will have four weeks to pay
their bill, from the date on the invoice.
