New alignment of The Strand to open
From tomorrow morning, there will be major changes to The Strand in the lower Grafton Gully area. A new section of road will open that will directly connect The Strand with the Stanley Street/Beach Rd/Parnell Rise intersection.
The realignment of The Strand will remove the current dogleg intersection between The Strand and Stanley Street, allowing better access between the Port area and the Grafton motorway on and off-ramps.
Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are asked to be aware of the changes and to take extra care when using The Strand, Stanley Street, Beach Road, Parnell Rise and Ronayne Street.
Work will continue in the lower gully until the Grafton Gully motorway upgrading project is completed in December.
Transit thanks all road users and residents for their co-operation.
For more information about the work, please phone 0800 TO FREEFLOW (863 733) or visit the public information centre on the corner of Alten Road & Stanley Street, Grafton.
