Unparalleled Prices Achieved by
Harcourts Ellerslie
The Auckland suburb of Ellerslie, famous for horse racing and garden shows, is also becoming known for outstanding property prices with the Harcourts Ellerslie office achieving the sale of four $600,000 plus homes in the last six weeks.
Harcourts Ellerslie Sales Manager, John Redward said what made these sales so extraordinary was that at the beginning of 2003, Ellerslie’s median house price was around $250,000. And although that had increased to over $300,000 by the end of 2003, Mr Redward said it was “unparalleled” for the district to see so many high prices achieved in such a short period of time.
Of the four $600,000 plus property sales, Harcourts Ellerslie Sales Consultant, Gary Thomas described one as “an immaculately refurbished character bungalow” and the second as “a great family home on a large site” with both situated on what is known as the ‘high side’ of the township.
The third and fourth homes were on ‘the flat’ with one on a site that could be subdivided and the other a “beautifully presented free flowing home with the $600,000 price it achieved quite extraordinary”.
Mr Redward attributed the
steadily increasing buyer demand for the area to the
township of Ellerslie, which he said was “absolutely booming
with many cafes and restaurants serving both the residents
and workers in the ever growing commercial area adjacent to
the town.” Ellerslie had also increased in popularity
because of its good parking, proximity to public transport
and easy access within 10 minutes of Auckland
city.
