Alten Road and Lower Domain Drive closed for pavement works

Transit New Zealand advises that Alten Rd and Lower Domain Drive in Grafton will be – CLOSED – to downhill traffic during the day and overnight from 8pm on Friday 2 April until 6pm on Saturday 3 April.

Alten Road closure
- Motorists travelling downhill, away from the University of Auckland, towards the port and motorway access, will be affected from the Alten Rd/Symonds St/Anzac Ave intersection through to the Alten Rd/Stanley St intersection.

Traffic travelling up Alten Rd towards the University from Stanley St will not be affected.

The closure is for the completion of traffic island and pavement works being undertaken at the Alten Rd/Stanley St intersection.

Lower Domain Drive closure
- Motorists travelling downhill, away from the Auckland Domain, into Grafton Gully, will be affected from the Domain Drive/Lower Domain Drive intersection through to the Stanley St/Lower Domain Drive intersection.

Traffic travelling up Lower Domain Drive towards the Auckland Domain from Grafton Gully will not be affected.

The closure is for pavement work being undertaken at the Stanley St end of Lower Domain Drive.

During the closures, motorists are advised to use alternative routes. These will be clearly signposted.

Closures are weather permitting, and in the event of bad weather, work will be postponed until the next clear weekend.
