Erotica Billboards Too Hot for Cardiganned Councillors
"The
cardiganned councillors of Auckland City Council should butt
out and leave Steve Crow's billboards alone," says
Libertarianz Leader Bernard Darnton, responding to the
efforts of conservative councillors to ban Crow's billboards
advertising his Erotica Expo at the Epsom Showgrounds. "If
you can't stand the heat," he advises council, "just stay
out of the Expo!"
"Prudish councillors have neither a legal nor any moral right to ban these billboards," affirms Darnton. "They are simply bullying and threatening like the bossy-boot busybodies they are." Referring to the council's failed bid to reverse a resource consent on the old Paykel house in Parnell, Darnton suggests "they have found out already this week that there is a limit to the extent they can bully a property developer. I look forward to Mr Crow delivering them a similar lesson."
