The candidates are keen to get on with the job,and the members have high expectations of their candidates.”

“The process was robust, open and fair. All candidates had an opportunity to speak, and then answer a couple of questions. It was a very positive meeting and it abodes well for our ticket this year,” said Mr Slater.

“It is very pleasing to see citizens come together and participate in the process to see who represents them at the council. Local democracy is in good heart, and we are looking forward to the elections in October. The candidates chosen last night will be superb representatives of the ward on the Auckland City Council and the Eastern Bays Community Board.” said Mr Slater.
