V8 threat the result of bad planning
Transit New Zealand's threat to block the proposed V8 street-race is the result of bad planning by Auckland City, says mayoral candidate, Bruce Hucker.
"This is what happens when you get elderly boy racers involved," he said.
"It seems obvious that you shouldn't block or imperil the major routes to and through the city from the north. The petrolheads have been snorting too much of the high octane," said Dr Hucker.
"Planning for the current option has been a waste of public money. Perhaps we should now look for a better place for the race or scrap the idea."
