Tamaki Community Board gets new Chair
At the Tamaki Community Board meeting last night the board voted former Deputy Chair, Kate Sutton to be the new Chair after the departure of previous Chair Christine Heke last month.
New Tamaki Community Board Chair Kate Sutton says “I am absolutely thrilled to be elected after a month of being Acting Chair. I feel I have grown into the roll quite well and look forward to continuing to serve the Tamaki Community to the best of my ability.”
“We have a great team who has worked well together so far, we all have our areas of expertise” Sutton continued. “We are a strong Labour group with a shared desire to walk forward with the community.”
Jan Welch was elected Deputy Chair and a new board member will be elected at a By-Election to begin on the 22nd of September
