2005/06 - Regional Grants from Manukau City Council
Regional grants totalling $160,000 were approved at the Corporate Governance meeting of the Manukau City Council last night.
Earlier this year applications for grants were invited from organisations that provide significant artistic, cultural, recreational, safety or heritage functions at a regional level and are in line with Council’s Funding to Communities Policy.
The successful organisations for 2005/06 are:

Orchestra $30,000
Auckland Zoological
Park $45,000
Coastguard Northern
Region $10,000
National Maritime Museum
$5,000
NBR New Zealand Opera $10,000
Peter Snell
Institute of Sport $5,000
Surf Life Saving Northern
Region $30,000
WaterSafe Auckland
Inc. $10,000
Chair of the Corporate Governance
Committee Councillor Bob Wichman says:
“While the groups
receiving funding are not within the Manukau area the grants
are recognition that our residents benefit from the
wonderful services that these organisations
provide.”
