Bluebird Christmas at the Zoo
Join Studio 2's Matt and Dayna, the Bluebird penguins and the big man himself, Santa, at this year's most magical Christmas party at Auckland Zoo on Sunday 18 December 2005, from 5pm to 9pm.
Visit Santa in his grotto near the Band Rotunda to deliver your Christmas wishes, and take an adventure into 'Narnia' in Pridelands. Find the magical fairy grotto and see which of the animals you can spot up and about enjoying the summer evening.
There will be loads of exciting surprises around the zoo including free face-painting, carol singers, bouncy castles, inflatable rides and those Bluebird Penguins ready to fill kids' stockings with tasty treats.
At the Band Rotunda you can watch popular TV characters 'The Party Animals' performing live on stage, and you can even meet them up close later in the night. Matt and Dayna then host the special Christmas Show, where you can join in games to win great prizes and sing-along with your favourite festive songs.
"Auckland Zoo and Bluebird Foods are really looking forward to hosting a fun and entertaining evening the whole family will enjoy," says Jackie Sanders, Auckland Zoo events and sponsorship management coordinator.
Bring a picnic or purchase dinner from Darwin's café or the BBQs near the Band Rotunda. Darwin's is licensed, and a fully licensed bar will also be set up in the grounds. WETA espresso cafe and the Wild Zone Gift Shop will be open for a great cup of coffee or some last minute Christmas shopping.
Strictly limited tickets are on sale now at Auckland Zoo and Ticketek ph (09) 307 5000 (normal zoo admissions apply). Entry is free for all Friends of the Zoo members who collect a ticket from the zoo before 12 December. The event rain date is rain date 19 December 2005.
