Tribute To Don Selwyn
Ia Manuia Le Malaga - Don Selwyn, May God Be With You
I am deeply sorry to learn of the passing away of Don Selwyn. The people of Otara express their deepest sympathies and offer our prayers of comfort to his extended whanau. We pray that this cloud of darkness will quickly dissipate. May the sun that sets today continue to rise again.
We are so grateful to Don Selwyn for his passion, love and belief in the potential of all our young people. Many of our young people received hope, inspiration, motivation from his teachings. There are also many who have been blessed with careers in film and art as a result of Don’s encouragement and commitment to Maori & Pacific youth, and their creative talents.
We thank Don Selwyn for his shining example.
‘Ia manuia le malaga’ is a Samoan expression to farewell someone and to bless them on their journey ahead, and in this case I wish Don Selwyn a safe and blessed journey to the Heavens.
May God bless you with a permanent place in the hereafter. May God be with your whanau.
