Traffic
advisory: SH1 Ngauranga Gorge resurfacing this
week
Transit New Zealand will be resurfacing SH1 at the top of the Ngauranga Gorge overnight this week.
The work, to be undertaken on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 8.00pm to 5.00am, affects the top of the Gorge on the northbound, left-hand curve.
Two lanes will be made available at all times on SH1 while this work is done with speed restrictions in place while the road is resurfaced.
Motorists need to be aware that this work will be happening if they are travelling north on the highway after 8pm on these two days. Also, they must be aware that the Newlands northbound on-ramp will be closed to facilitate the highway resurfacing.
No other closures or restrictions are planned and no significant delays are anticipated. Transit apologises for any inconvenience while this work is done.
