ARTA: Changes To Southern Line Services On Weekend
ARTA Media Release
21 June 2007
Changes to Southern Line services this weekend
The Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) advises that a bus replacement service will be operating for all stations between Papakura and Papatoetoe on the Southern Line this weekend.
ARTA's General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says on Saturday 23 June and Sunday 24 June 2007 regular train services between Papatoetoe and Papakura stations will be replaced by buses to allow track maintenance and improvement work to take place.
"While we will be transporting passengers to and from their target destinations, bus departure and arrival times will differ from scheduled train times. We advise passengers to check timetables and allow more time for their journey.
"We understand that this may cause disruptions to passengers, but the work is an important component of the overall upgrade across the Auckland rail network in order to support the reliable operation of more trains on the Southern Line. The support and understanding of passengers is greatly appreciated," Mr Lambert said.
Normal train fares will apply for the entire journey. Passengers should look out for the Rail Bus sign at affected stations.
Southern Line passengers can get more information about bus replacements and timetables from MAXX on (09) 366 6400 or at www.maxx.co.nz
