Hotline for Taranaki assistance
Civil defence and welfare agencies have established a hotline for people in Taranaki requiring assistance as a result of the string of tornadoes that have hit the region over the past 24 hours.
Any people requiring welfare assistance should phone 0800 779 997
The National Crisis Management Centre was activated last night in support of the state of emergency declared by the Taranaki Civil Defence Management (CDEM) Group.
The NCMC remains activated at Mode 1 (Monitoring) to be available to assist the Taranaki CDEM Group with central government support if required.
