National Crisis Management Centre standing down
The National Crisis Management Centre in Wellington is standing down this evening after monitoring the state of emergency declared in Taranaki.
Ministry of Civil Defence & Emergency Management staff remain in contact with the local Civil Defence Management Group (CDEM)in Taranaki and will continue to monitor weather conditions around the country.
Any people requiring welfare assistance as a result of the tornadoes should still telephone 0800 779 997.
