AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL
MEDIA RELEASE
16 July 2007
Extended deadline for dog registration
Auckland City Council has extended the deadline for dog registration to 17 August 2007 to give owners more time after delays in sending out reminder packs. Packs have now been distributed.
Dog owners who pay their fees on or before 17 August 2007 will qualify for the early registration fee and go in the draw to win one of five $200 Westfield vouchers. From 18 August, normal registration fees apply.
Dogs must be registered with the council every year from when they are three months old. Dogs that are caught without registration tags may be impounded. See www.aucklandcitygovt.nz/dogs for more information about owning a dog in Auckland city.
Dog owners whose details have not changed in the last year can re-register their dogs on the website. Owners registering their dog for the first time can download a form from the site or request one by phoning 379 2020.
