Councillor Offers to Meet Airport Developer
KCDC Councillor Alan Tristram has taken up the challenge by Paraparaumu Airport developer Noel Robinson to hold a face-to-face meeting with him on airport issues.
He has offered to meet Mr Robinson on a one-to-one basis before or after a major public meeting on airport issues to be held on Sunday, August 26.
Cr Tristram says: "I have met informally with Mr Robinson before, but, as he has made an issue out of this, I am publicly inviting him to meet with me again.
"I am giving him a full month's notice to allow him ample time to prepare and to alter his itinerary accordingly.
"The last time the Paraparaumu Airport Coalition invited Mr Robinson to a meeting he hesitated for several days before finally turning us down. But there is no such excuse this time," he says.
The public meeting on the Paraparaumu Airport Plan Change will enable all the local body candidates to present their views on the issues - and to answer questions from the public.
It is being held at the Kapiti Primary School, on the corner of Rimu Rd and Kapiti Rd, Paraparaumu, starting at 2.30pm on Sunday, August 26.
Cr Tristram says an independent chair will be appointed to ensure scrupulous fairness.
