Book Collections Begin
Collections for Downtown Community Ministry’s annual Book fair fundraiser are underway.
Wheeli bins have been delivered to a number of locations around the city for people to donate their unwanted books.
Coordinator David Cross says, “Over June and July we need people to donate their books. They can take them to a number of churches community centres and CABs around the city.
“Our website has a list of wheeli bin locations or people can call us to find the drop off point nearest to them. We’re also very happy to come and collect any books from Wellington locations.
“It’s not only books we’re collecting, but DVDs, CDs and vinyl records as well.
“Wellingtonians give amazing support to the Book fair, it’s an important fundraising event for Downtown Community Ministry and we’re waiting to see what will turn up this year.
The Book fair is one of the biggest in the country. It will be held on the 6th and 7th of September in the TSB Arena on the waterfront.
