The Otahuhu Steering Group invites everyone passionate about Otahuhu - residents, business people, social agencies working in the area - to come and participate in the annual Otahuhu Community Forum.
The Otahuhu Community Forum will run on Tuesday 29 July 2008 from 6pm to 8pm at the Otahuhu Town Hall and Community Centre,10 High Street, Otahuhu. Everyone, including media, is welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
“We are really looking forward to seeing everyone who's passionate about Otahuhu at our annual Forum,” said Steering Group Chair Arna Metcalfe.
“We will celebrate our achievements over the past year, such as the establishment of community newsletter Otahuhu Voices, and will report back about progress on the projects identified at the 2007 Forum.”
Steering Group members will lead a series of topic based workshops to encourage feedback from locals about issues of current concern that could be worked on in the coming year.
Representatives of the Auckland City Council, local schools, community groups and social agencies will be represented at the Forum and will have information available for the community.
The Otahuhu Steering Group is a network of residents, local business people, and representatives of local and central government that has worked for several years to address Otahuhu community issues such as health, clean environment, and law and order; increase communication and knowledge within the community; support community activities; and foster community pride.
