Closure of Omana-Esplanade Road
Media statement by Clevedon Community Board
25 July 2008
Closure of Omana-Esplanade Road
At the full council meeting last night, the notice of motion for the use of a referendum relating to the closure of Omana-Esplanade Road was lost.
The council also recommended to the Clevedon Community Board that, following consultation, it reconsiders its decision to close the road. In April 2008 the Clevedon Community Board requested Manukau Parks consult on the design of the Omana Esplanade Reserve roading, parking and walkway layout with options for final consideration by the Board. That consultation will take place in the coming months.
The community board willl work with the community and the council towards resolving issues.
