Christmas Food
Appeal this Saturday
Downtown Community is asking you to make a big difference to people short of food this Christmas by giving to the food appeal this Saturday.
The DCM food bank shelves are in desperate need of filling up so they can last throughout the busy Christmas season.
Director Stephanie McIntyre says, “Saturday’s collection is critical for the food bank stock levels. If we are not able to see a significant boost to what’s on the shelves then we’ll simply not have enough food to last throughout the summer.
“However, we know there are a lot of people with
very generous hearts that want to see people provided for.
The food appeal is an excellent way to give to someone in
need this Christmas.”
Volunteers will be stationed from
9am-6pm at Wellington City, Newtown and Willis St Metro New
World’s to take food donations from generous
shoppers.
If you are unable to make it into one of the supporting supermarkets you can make a financial donation on the DCM website.
