ARTA Media Release

31 March 2009

The Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) advises that a revised timetable and bus replacement services will be operating between Papakura and Papatoetoe on the Southern Line from 12:40pm Saturday 4 April until 1:30pm Sunday 5 April.

ARTA's General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says, “Bus replacements will be in place between Papakura and Papatoetoe from 12:40pm on Saturday 4 April until 1:30pm Sunday 5 April to allow for the completion of important maintenance and bridge replacement works that can not be carried out when the trains are running.”

“Trains will be running as usual, and to their normal timetable, from Papakura to Papatoetoe outside of the specified hours.”

"We understand that the bus replacements may cause disruptions to passengers however this is important work, and the support and understanding of passengers while it is taking place is greatly appreciated,” Mr Lambert says.

Where buses replace trains, normal train fares will apply for the entire journey. Passengers should look out for the RAIL BUS sign at affected stations.

Passengers are advised to check timetables carefully before travelling.

Passengers can get more information about the bus replacements and about Southern Line train timetables from MAXX on (09) 366 6400 or at www.maxx.co.nz
