future
(Auckland, 22 April 2009)
Otahuhu residents will get the chance to shape the future of their town in an upcoming community forum.
For the fourth time, the Otahuhu Steering Group is hosting the Otahuhu Community Forum on Monday 27th April at 6pm at the Otahuhu Town Hall. The forum will be a chance for community members to talk about their ideas for the future of Otahuhu and how these ideas might become reality.
Among those expected are representatives from Auckland City Council, businesses, schools, churches, community organisations and residents.
The Otahuhu Steering Group will also feedback to the community about what it has achieved over the past year in the areas of environment, youth, safety and pride.
Otahuhu Community Development Coordinator Louise Stokes says that this event provides an opportunity for residents to get involved.
“This forum creates a space at a local level where people can say what they want to see happen, and also have a role in making that happen.”
