Ministerial visit to Churton Park
The Churton Park Community Association recently hosted the Associate Minister of Local Government, Hon John Carter MP, for a visit to the suburb and a briefing on local issues.
Among the topics discussed were the rapid growth of the suburb, local roading projects, and new initiatives being undertaken by the Community Association.
“We were absolutely delighted to be able to host Mr Carter and to show him around our community. He had a very good knowledge of local concerns and of our community” said Association President, Roger Ellis.
“It’s important to ensure that key stakeholders at both central and local government have a good understanding of our community’s concerns and vision for the future. In addition to Mr Carter’s interest in north Wellington we particularly appreciated the help of Katrina Shanks MP in facilitating the visit by the Minister” said Mr Ellis.
This is the second visit to Churton Park by Government Minister in recent months. Earlier this year Churton Park also played host to the Minister of Education, Hon. Anne Tolley. Subsequently funding a new local primary school was announced in March.
