Mayor congratulates Rodney’s Queen’s Birthday recipients
Mayor Penny Webster has congratulated Rodney’s most recent Queen’s Birthday honour recipients and paid tribute to their contributions to the local community.
She says this year’s four local Queen’s Birthday honour recipients: Frank Mackereth; David Steele; Laly Haddon and Alan Boniface have all contributed immensely to the Rodney community and are deserving of their public recognition.
“It is pleasing to see good people from our district being nationally acknowledged for the work in the community they have done over the years,” Mayor Penny explained.
“All four - in their own way - have managed to collectively improve the lives of many hundreds of Rodney’s residents“.
Mrs Webster said she would also like to congratulate and thank all four men – on behalf of both the Rodney District Council and the community – for all their hard work and devotion to the region over the years.
“Alan, David, Frank and Laly are great examples of the type of strong, community-minded people we are blessed with in Rodney. I am delighted they have been publicly recognised and honoured and all four thoroughly deserve their awards.”
