Boaties urged to check moorings
10 July 2009
_The harbourmaster is advising all boat owners to check their moorings as bad weather is forecast to hit the Auckland region tomorrow.
MetService expects the region to be battered by a severe storm over the weekend.
Strong east to south-east winds of between 40 to 60 knots are forecast.
For updates on the weather visit www.metservice.co.nz
Last year 93 boats came adrift from moorings within the Auckland area. A number of these incidents could have been prevented if boats were moored correctly and moorings checked regularly.
