Recession Busting Website Launched
Hit The Town is a brand new website designed to steer Wellingtonians to the cheapest drink and meal specials in Wellington. The site www.hitthetown.co.nz is the brainchild of Claire Medcalf, who put the site together after struggling to find a website that listed quiz nights and poker nights.
“I discovered there are heaps of places to go during the week that won’t break the bank and I wanted to share it!”
The website has been online since May and Hit The Town has only been marketed using social networking sites Facebook and Twitter and word of mouth. “I wanted to trial the site before I approached businesses to advertise – to make sure that I was offering a genuine product with real statistics to show prospective clients”.
The website has been a hit – with over 750 followers on Twitter, 90 Fans on Facebook and over 2000 people that have visited the site since it went live.
The website lists over 45 bars and restaurants in and around Wellington – with detailed listings for quiz nights which allow visitors to rate the quiz nights.
“Many quiz night goers are very fussy about their quiz night choices – the wrong host or a dull venue can have a huge impact” says Claire.
Hit The Town will be holding an official launch party on 8th August at the Paramount Theatre featuring live jazz, DJ Forge and World Music DJ, Eric Medcalf. For more info visit http://bit.ly/25VHfq
Claire Medcalf owns Infinite Ingenuity, a Wellington based business that provides quiz nights and events for bars. Claire is currently plotting “Inquizitive – a singles quiz night” and also runs the Award nominated Paramount Movie Quiz.
