North Star helps kids find the Rainbows End
North Star is joining forces with the Police to take kids for an exciting adventure to Rainbows End.
On 30 August, over 150 kids from Whangaparaoa College and Orewa College will be treated to an all day outing at ‘Rainbows End’ theme park. They will join over 1500 other children from areas ranging from Whangarei to Hamilton and will get to enjoy free reign of the park, and a free all day sausage sizzle, as it is closed to the general public for the day.
To help make this event possible, North Star is providing transport to ensure the kids get to and from the park safely.
“At North Star, we believe it’s important to support the community we serve,” says John Taylor, General Manager of Valley Flyer. “The trip to Rainbows End is a wonderful example of our community pulling together to provide a safe and fun day for all the children involved. We are absolutely delighted that we can help make this possible.”
Hibiscus Coast Blue Light, who organised the event, is a Police facilitated organisation whose aim is to build relationships between Police, young people, their families and the community.
“Having the use of the North Star buses will allow the children and the Police to interact on a more personal level than would be possible within the park,”says Mark Veale, Coordinator for Hibiscus Coast Bluelight.
“Without first class companies like North Star, events like these would be unaffordable for families. The support they offer is critical to the opportunities of building relationships between Police and young people.”
