No decisions yet on standing for mayor of Auckland Council
31 August 2009
Chairman of the Auckland
Regional Council, Mike Lee, will make a decision on standing
for mayor of Auckland Council next year.
“For the record, I will not be making a final decision in regard to standing or not standing for mayor of the Super City until next year,” says Mr Lee.
“In the meantime, I have more than enough on my plate carrying out my job as chairman of the regional council.
“At this point in time, my efforts in regard to the Super City are to ensure the reality matches the name. Especially so in light of apparent secret government plans to shrink the land area of greater Auckland by one quarter.”
