Connection ‘To Go Ahead’ – Another Step In Moving
Auckland Into The Fast Lane
Today’s announcement that the $1.4 billion Waterview Connection is to proceed as a surface-tunnel project is great news – “ it is a pragmatic decision that Auckland needs for moving forward,” said Auckland Business Forum chairman Michael Barnett.
“We believe the New Zealand Transport Agency will achieve a good balanced outcome of responding to local concerns to mitigate the project to the greatest extent possible while at the same time completing the last major missing link in giving Auckland a modern motorway network with options, including for improved freight and bus services around the region.”
