Celebrations As Award Winning Buggy Walk Enters Its 4th Year

On Thursday October 1st 2009, the Wellington Botanic Gardens will once again be inundated with buggies as an estimated 1,000 enthusiastic mums, dads, grandparents, caregivers and children join Sport Wellington for the Golden Foot Award winning Buggy Walk. The October walk will mark the beginning of the 4th year of monthly walks and to celebrate there will be lots of festivities to keep the whole family entertained.

Participants will receive a warm welcome to the event from Bananas in Pyjamas who will be handing out colourful balloons from Plunket, Coffee will be on hand courtesy of Caffe L’affare and the Classic Hits Breakfast Team will be there to get everyone amped and ready to take on the hills of the Botanic Gardens. The walk gives participants a good chance to enjoy the tulips and the gardens in full bloom as part of the Spring Festival.

Upon completion of the walk, participants will receive a ‘goodie bag’ packed with give-aways kindly donated by sponsors. Following this, spot prizes will be awarded and entertainment provided by popular Wellington based kid’s band The Plops.

This event is free so just turn up on the day with your children, buggy, warm clothes in case it gets cold and a packed lunch for a picnic afterwards.

Media are welcome to attend.
