Melbourne Cup Hospitality On A High At Ellerslie

Melbourne Cup Hospitality On A High At Ellerslie

Tomorrow evening at 5pm two nations will stop to watch and celebrate the running of the greatest 3200m race in the world, the Emirates Melbourne Cup.

With numerous hospitality areas selling out well before the event, Ellerslie’s summer season of racing is off to a fantastic start and for those unable to be oncourse at Flemington to watch the big race, Ellerslie is undoubtedly the place to be on Telecom Melbourne Cup Day.

Ellerslie punters can expect a day brimming with action-packed excitement, including ten exciting oncourse races featuring the Group III $70,000 Nicolas Feuillatte Stakes. This race marks a new relationship between Ellerslie and France’s biggest selling champagne, Nicolas Feuillatte, and is sure to set the mood for a sensational season of racing.

“The Auckland Racing Club is proud to host an event that reflects the prestige and style associated with Melbourne Cup Day across the Tasman whilst delivering an experience unique to Ellerslie,” says Auckland Racing Club CEO Chris Weaver. “We’re excited to have Telecom onboard as major sponsor of Melbourne Cup Day here at Ellerslie. This day not only marks Melbourne’s biggest race, it also marks the beginning of the countdown to Telecom Derby Day, the day that kicks off Auckland Cup Week on Saturday 6th of March.”

A live simulcast at 5pm will transport Ellerslie punters to Flemington to watch the running of the Emirates Melbourne Cup. The fun and revelry will continue at Ellerslie with races running until just after 7pm, followed by the infamous Birdcage Bash in Cuvée ‘til late!

A range of superb hospitality options are available at Ellerslie for Telecom Melbourne Cup Day, including the Pimm’s Garden Party and the Champions Club, as well as marquee hospitality. For details visit www.ellerslie.co.nz

Gates open at 10.30am on Tuesday 3rd November with the first race at Ellerslie starting at 12.12pm.
