Third Time Lucky for $3.5 Million Powerball Winner

Third Time Lucky for $3.5 Million Powerball Winner from Manukau

For an amazing third week in a row, a Lotto Powerball player from Manukau has beaten the odds and won a Powerball $3 million First Division prize, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.

“It’s a hat trick for our three lucky Powerball winners and shows that our big prizes can be won at any time,” he said.

The winning Powerball ticket was sold at Dawson Superette in Manukau and is worth a total of $3,500,000 with $3 million from Lotto Powerball and $500,000 from Lotto First Division.

“The previous two weeks’ big winners were from Otahuhu in Auckland and Whanganui – so Powerball is certainly spreading its magic around the country.”

One other Auckland Lotto player won $500,000 on Lotto First Division tonight. Their winning ticket was sold online at MyLotto.co.nz.

Strike Four was also won tonight by two South Island players from who bought tickets at Hornby Mall Lotto in Christchurch and The Lunchbox & Dairy Allenton in Ashburton, winning them $143,028 each.

Tonight’s other big winner was Jan Scott from Dunedin who won a His and Hers’ Car Package on Lotto’s Winning Wheel.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto’s Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet. Tonight’s Winning Wheel ticket was sold at Onerahi Bookshop and Lotto in Whangarei. The serial number is 627-36120838-20xx.

“Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any NZ Lotteries outlet," Mr McLeay says.
