ARC Chairman Thanks Maritime Union for Its Support of Queens Wharf Cruise Ship Terminal
17 February 2010
ARC
Chairman Mike Lee has thanked the Maritime Union for its
staunch support of a cruise ship terminal on Queens Wharf
(see attached).
“The Maritime Union is well aware of the importance of Auckland’s waterfront as a working waterfront,” said Mr Lee.
“Auckland is a harbour city – a port city, blessed with one of the best natural harbours in the world.
“Additional to superb recreational amenities, shipping and maritime commerce are vital for Auckland’s economy and for jobs.
“The Maritime Union clearly understands the value of the cruise ship industry not just for Auckland commerce but also for jobs – both ashore and afloat for Aucklanders.”
