Anna Coddington to Hold Clevedon Concert

Singer/Songwriter joins list of Kiwi greats to perform in support of local community action group, Clevedon CARES.

----------------

Acclaimed singer/songwriter Anna Coddington is the latest New Zealand artist to plan a concert in Clevedon, to help the local community action group, Clevedon CARES.

The group, which campaigns against plans to build nearly 300 homes on a canal development, close to the historic heart of Clevedon Village, has also benefited from two fundraising concerts by Don McGlashan and a third by the Topp Twins.

As well as singing backing for Bic Runga, Anika Moa and SJD recordings, Anna Coddington has performed in her own bands Handsome Geoffrey and Duchess and recently with Fly My Pretties. Her solo album, 'The Lake', was released in 2008.

"We're hugely grateful to Anna for agreeing to perform live at the Clevedon Village Hall nest month (see below for details).

"It's fantastic to have the support of another great Kiwi artist, in our efforts to preserve the unique character of our part of rural New Zealand,"says Clevedon CARES spokesperson, Mary Whitehouse.

The Environment Court completed a lengthy hearing concerning the canal project just before Christmas. Clevedon CARES commenced its opposition to the project in 2005. A decision from the Environment Court is expected by the end of March.

Anna Coddington will be joined at the Clevedon Village Hall on Wednesday 10th March, by another talented Kiwi singer/songwriter, Reb Fountain, who scored rave responses last year, when she appeared with Don McGlashan in the second of his Clevedon concerts.

The doors open for the concert at 7.00 pm. Tickets for $30.00 each can be purchased over the counter at the Clevedon Woolshed , online at www.undertheradar.co.nz or by telephoning James on 09 292 9344.

A cash bar and snacks are provided and some tickets may be available at the door, if they're not sold out in advance.
