Govt Meeting Pest Management Promise
Council Welcomes Government Meeting Pest Management Promise
Taranaki Regional Council Chairman, David MacLeod welcomes the announcement today that the Crown will meet its obligations, as a responsible land owner, under regional pest management strategies.
Biosecurity Minister David Carter’s announcement means that all land owners in New Zealand will be treated equally and fairly in being bound to control pests.
The Crown’s agreement to being a responsible neighbour is a major step forward for pest management, says Mr MacLeod.
“The shared commitment by regional councils and the Government to effective biosecurity will enable more effective implementation of the Council’s pest management strategies in Taranaki.”
