Wellington Labour Selects Ganley for Lambton

Press Release:

Wellington Labour Selects Ganley for Lambton

Marcus Ganley has been selected by the Wellington Labour Party to contest the Lambton Ward in the upcoming Council elections says Seamus Brady, Secretary of the Wellington Labour Local Body Campaign Committee.

"As a long-term resident of the inner-city, Marcus is a strong candidate for the Lambton Ward.  While competition will be fierce, Labour has held the Lambton Ward before, and we are confident that with a candidate of Marcus’s calibre we can win it again,” Seamus Brady says.

“Marcus is a lawyer by training and comes to the team with a strong background of working in central Government.  He also has business experience serving on the board of directors of Charlton Brown Australia private Registered Training Organisation.”

Labour’s Wellington Central MP, Grant Robertson, endorsed Mr Ganley’s selection.

"Marcus is a great addition to the Labour team.  I have known and worked with Marcus for many years.  He is passionate about inner city issues and will bring real energy to the campaign,” Grant Robertson says.

Marcus Ganley said, "I'm pleased to have been selected, and now the hard work of campaigning begins.  I look forward to meeting fellow Lambton residents and working with them to make Wellington an even better place to live.  The Lambton ward has many varied communities that need strong representation. I'm looking to bring some new ideas and fresh energy to the Council as part of a strong Labour team.”

Marcus joins a strong team of Labour Candidates with Sharon Blaikie in the Onslow-Western Ward, Paul Eagle and Keith Johnson in the Southern Ward, Leonie Gill and Taima Fagaloa in the Eastern Ward as well as Chris Lipscome and Daran Ponter standing for the Greater Wellington Regional Council.
