Summer beach hours for dogs
With the warmer weather just around the corner, so too are the summer beach hours for dogs.
To fully enjoy walking your dog on Auckland's beaches, ensure you are up-to-date with the Auckland City Council bylaws that switch to summer hours this Saturday, 23 October.
You can walk your dog on a leash on most Auckland city beaches before 9am and after 7pm. The exceptions to this being Mission Bay beach and some Waiheke beaches.
There is some variation between areas for dog access and where they are allowed off-leash so check the signs when you get to the beach.
For more information on dog exercise areas in Auckland city, and off-leash time restrictions, visit www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/dogs or phone: (09) 379 2020.
