Baby boomers H.I.P brochure just got hipper
ROTORUA 26.10.10:
Rotorua District
Council’s ‘H.I.P. Stuff for Baby Boomers’ has just got
hipper with the latest edition offering new content, longer
duration, Quick Find calendar and an extra online
feature.
H.I.P. stands for ‘hobbies, interests and passions’ and the brochure aims to get local over 50s involved in a range of activities. This year for the first time the brochure covers a longer six-month period, over spring and summer. A modified Quick Find calendar has been included as a centrepiece, offering a clear view of activities contained in the brochure.
The latest H.I.P. brochure also boasts over 70% new content, and anyone viewing H.I.P. online also has access to email addresses for groups and clubs listed in the brochure.
RDC community policy & resources manager Ann Esler says the previous two issues have proved hugely popular in the community and feedback has been extremely positive.
“Many people have commented on their surprise at finding so many, and such diverse, activities available right here in Rotorua.
“We’re sure this latest issue is going to be just as well used, especially as we lead into the better weather over spring and summer.”
Local Netherlands Society acting president Douwe Visser said the H.I.P. brochure looked great.
“It gives a lot of information about what is on here in Rotorua. I wish I had known about it earlier then I wouldn’t have missed out on some of the concerts.”
Valerie Janin from Le Café de Paris’ says the brochure is a very good idea.
“I found a lot of interesting ideas and crafts for myself and other women to be involved in.”
‘H.I.P. Stuff for Baby Boomers’ brochures are available from Rotorua District Council’s Customer Centre, various retail and community organisations and on the council website www.rdc.govt.nz under the Recreation tab, and the Sport Bay of Plenty website www.sportbop.co.nz
