Kids’ ideas sought for fun day
Kids’ ideas sought for fun day
Rotorua District Council (RDC) is looking for young
people aged between 10 and 13 years old to help plan next
year’s Children’s and Family Fun Day at The Redwoods.
RDC community arts officer Kiri Jarden says it's a good opportunity for young people to let the adults know their ideas for the popular event being held on 6 March 2011.
"In the past the fun day has been organised by adults. However we think some kids might like to share their thoughts on fun things to do and maybe help us run some of the activities.
“We’re looking for around 10 local children to volunteer and help create the best event yet.”
Flag painting, face painting, Army, Police Armed Offenders and Fire Service displays, mountain bike skills, Nervous Nellie’s bike skills, sack races, gymnastics play, storytelling, and the Great Go-Kart Race are some of the activities held at the fun day over the last two years.
Applications close 25
November.
