Gardeners’ Gold as good as gold
Gardeners’ Gold as good as gold
Rotorua 16.11.10: Gardening enthusiasts will pleased to know that the popular Gardeners’ Gold compost is back.
Gardeners' Gold compost has Bay of Plenty Regional Council consent and is available from 1pm to 3pm from Monday to Friday at the compost yard alongside the Wastewater Treatment Plant on Te Ngae Rd.
The proven high quality, unscreened compost is $10 for a single-axle trailer load, or $15 per cubic metre for larger loads.
Rotorua District Council utilities plant manager, Andy Bainbridge, says Gardeners’ Gold is made up of biosolids from the treatment plant, greenwaste, grass, bark and woodwaste, and is composted to meet NZ Guidelines for pathogen kill and limits for heavy metals.
“Gardeners’ Gold has been very popular in the past, as it is an excellent source of nutrients and organic matter.”
People wishing to purchase Gardeners' Gold should drive with caution to the rear of the composting yard, where a loader driver will be available to assist and to take cash payments.
