Governor-General recognises New Zealand’s emerging leaders
Acclaimed fashion designer Karen Walker, TradeMe founder Sam Morgan, and Corporal Willie Apiata, the first recipient of the Victoria Cross for New Zealand, are among guests attending a dinner at Government House in Auckland tomorrow night to celebrate New Zealand’s emerging leaders.
The Governor-General, Rt Hon Sir Anand Satyanand and Lady Susan Satyanand, are hosting the event to recognise and encourage new generations of leaders who have contributed to New Zealand.
“The achievements of young New Zealanders who, despite establishing families and paying off mortgages, have made a significant contribution to New Zealand’s economy and society is something to be acknowledged and praised,” said Sir Anand.
The guest list represents a selection of outstanding young New Zealanders who have demonstrated exceptional leadership potential through achievements in their field of expertise.
