Music at the Rotunda back
ROTORUA 02.02.11: The Band Rotunda is once again set to become the hub of entertainment for anyone wishing to enjoy a relaxing day out while listening to local musicians over the next two months.
‘Music at the Rotunda’ kicks off at the Government Gardens this weekend. The free concert series is in its fifth year and runs over seven consecutive Sundays from 1pm.
Rotorua District Council community arts officer Kiri Jarden says local musicians have been fantastic in making themselves available for the performances.
“The free concerts have a loyal following and provide a great opportunity for locals and visitors to relax and enjoy good music in beautiful surrounds.
“Concert goers are encouraged to bring along a picnic and chairs to totally immerse themselves in the ‘Music at the Rotunda’ atmosphere.”
‘Music at the Band Rotunda’ starts each Sunday at 1pm and musicians are:

March 6: The Dave Cown Group
March 13: The BOP
Blues Club
March 20: The Thermaleles and Rotorua Pipe

March 27: The Rotorua Brass Band and Rotorua
Symphonic Band
Performances will take place in most weather, but will be cancelled where it becomes too wet.
‘Music at the Rotunda’ is funded by Rotorua District Council and the Rotorua Trust.
