Mighty River Power granted extension on response to Turitea wind farm draft consent
Mighty River Power has been granted an extension to the time the company has to respond on the Board of Inquiry’s draft report awarding resource consents for the construction and operation of a wind farm at Turitea, east of Palmerston North, and now has until 12 May 2011 to deliver its response.
General Manager for Development, Mark Trigg, said the extension on the original 11 March deadline was necessary given the company’s need to respond on a large number of complex and substantive issues. This includes consideration of alternative locations for major infrastructure, a process that involves consultation with other parties (including both the councils and landowners).
“The extension will give those parties we are consulting with time to consider the matters and options put to them during discussions with Mighty River Power and to make their own comments on our applications.”
