Five Choice Hotels Properties Closed Until Further Notice
Statement from David
Bayes, CEO Choice Hotels Australasia
23 February 2011
Choice Hotels’ five properties in the Christchurch area have all suffered damage from the 22 February earthquake. The properties will be closed until further notice.
They are:
• The Marque Christchurch –
Clarion Collection, 166 Gloucester Street
•
Chateau Blanc Suites – Clarion Collection, Cramner
Square
• Comfort Hotel Carlton Mill, 19 Bealey
Ave
• Quality Inn Towers On The Park, Cnr Deans
Avenue & Kilmarnock Street
• Econo Lodge
Canterbury Court, 140 Lincoln Road
Contact has been made with all properties and the best we can ascertain at this stage is that each has suffered some form of damage and will need to be structurally checked and cleared before they can be re-opened.
The safety of our staff and customers is paramount and the properties will not be reopened until we are certain they are safe.
Our thoughts go out to all people affected by this tragedy. We will keep you updated on the status of our properties as further information comes to hand.
Choice Hotels would be pleased to assist anyone seeking accommodation outside of Christchurch. Please call 0800 803 524 or visit www.choicehotels.co.nz.
