75% of Ngaio School 2011 Gala Profits to Go to Christchurch
At a special meeting held on Tuesday 1 March, The Ngaio School PTA agreed to donate 75% of the Ngaio School 2011 Gala profits to a Christchurch Primary School/s.
“Given the devastation that has occurred in Christchurch, the Ngaio School community felt that it was important to use this year’s Gala to make a significant difference to a school in need,” Justine Empson, Chairperson, Ngaio School PTA said.
“Obviously any fundraising for schools in Christchurch is going to be incredibly difficult this year so we wanted to say our gala is your gala, and we encourage other schools from around the country to do the same.”
Over 500 volunteers help to ensure the Ngaio Gala runs smoothly and is enjoyed by families from all over the Wellington region. We are grateful to them and to the many people and businesses who donate goods and services.
“A large amount of people work incredibly hard to make our Gala such a great fundraiser and this year is no different, except now we have an extra special reason to ensure this day is successful.”
The 2011 Ngaio School Gala will be held at Ngaio School on Sunday 13 March from 11.00am until 2.00pm.
