Statement from AA Insurance re Canterbury coverage
In contrast to some others in the industry, AA Insurance continues to insure its current customers in the Canterbury region, and is even taking on some new customers.
In particular AA Insurance is taking on new car insurance in the region.
“People in Christchurch need their cars, and if they’ve bought a replacement car, they need to be able to insure that vehicle,” says Suzanne Wolton, Head of Corporate Affairs, AA Insurance. “Also, customers with cars still inside the cordon should contact us so that we can arrange a temporary vehicle for them, either as a benefit covered by their policy or at very cheap rental rates.”
If AA Insurance already insures a home and the customer sells it, the company will usually offer the new owner insurance for the property – even if it’s damaged – as long as a claim has been lodged and normal terms are met.
AA Insurance also continues to insure its contents customers, including most cases of customers changing address.
“If you are moving house, even if it’s temporary, try to tell your insurer,” says Suzanne.
