Lockwood pleased with NZV8 debut at Manfeild
Matt Lockwood met his goal of an overall top ten finish in his first NZV8 race meeting of the 2010/11 season at Manfeild last month.
After completing the Elite Motorsport Academy Scholarship program last winter Lockwood has had to wait until 2011 to get back into racing a NZV8. He has secured a drive in John Penny’s Holden for the last three rounds of the season after Penny shifted to a Ford.

Lockwood managed a 7th, 9th
and 14th in the three races at Manfeild but also struggled
with setup and wasn’t as quick in races as he was in the
last practice before qualifying.
However he still managed
to finish in 10th position overall in the 3rd placed
Holden.
“I learnt a lot about the new car this round and I’m sure we can go faster at Taupo. The team is working very hard to get us into a position where we can challenge the faster drivers” Lockwood said.
Lockwood’s best rookie result last year was second place in the final race of the season at Taupo and he is hoping for similar success at Taupo this weekend.
