cancelled:
According to scientifc advice, no further
tsunami threat exists for New Zealand coastlines as a result
of the earthquake described below. Nonetheless minor
fluctuations in sea level may continue for up to 48 hours
and caution is required on beaches and in marine
environments.

Tauranga-Western Bay Civil Defence Update
The marine threat for the Bay of Plenty has now been lifted.
The Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management lifted the threat at 5.36pm on Saturday 11 March. Bay of Plenty Civil Defence Emergency Management staff have now been stood down.
The Surf Life Saving Championship organisers, Coastguard, Sea Comms and the Harbour Master have all been informed.
